Mind Care Hub

We offer neurodivergent-affirming counselling and EMDR trauma therapy for autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD individuals across Australia.

We believe therapy should work with your brain, not against it. Our approach is trauma-informed, flexible, and entirely online — so you can access quality mental health support from the comfort and safety of your own space.

EMDR Therapy & Counselling

Evidence-based trauma therapy for neurodivergent minds. You don't need to retell your story to heal — EMDR works at a neurological level, processing distressing experiences without requiring a detailed verbal account. Delivered online across Australia, with intensive formats available for those who want concentrated progress.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process distressing experiences that have become 'stuck.' Rather than requiring you to talk through what happened in detail, EMDR works at a neurological level — using bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements or tapping) to help your nervous system do what it was always designed to do: process, integrate, and move forward.

The result? Memories that once felt overwhelming begin to lose their charge. You don't forget what happened — but it no longer holds the same power over your present.
What can EMDR help with?

EMDR is effective for a wide range of issues, including:
  • Trauma & PTSD — from single events like accidents or medical events, to complex trauma built up over time such as childhood trauma
  • Anxiety & Panic — including generalised anxiety, panic attacks, and ongoing worry
  • Phobias & Fears — specific fears that hold you back in everyday life
  • Depression  — especially when linked to past experiences
  • Grief & Loss — for grief that feels stuck or overwhelming
  • Low self-worth — shifting negative beliefs like 'I'm not good enough' or 'I'm not safe'
Frequently asked questions

Do I have to talk about what happened in detail?
No. EMDR does not require a detailed verbal account of traumatic experiences. Many clients find this one of the most significant differences from other approaches — and a relief.

Is online EMDR as effective as in-person?
Yes. Research supports the effectiveness of online EMDR delivery. For many neurodivergent clients, being in their own environment actually enhances the sense of safety that good EMDR work requires.

How many sessions will I need?
This varies depending on the nature and complexity of what you're working on. Some single-incident traumas resolve in as few as 3 to 6 sessions. Complex or developmental trauma typically requires longer. We will discuss this with you openly from the outset.

What if I've had bad experiences with therapy before?
You're not alone — and you're not the problem. Many of our clients come to us after therapy experiences that felt unhelpful or even harmful. We move at your pace, and nothing happens in sessions without your full understanding and consent.
